Meet
the Team
We are an independent company that is passionate about
two things; cycling and Kerala. This passion led Miles and Sarah to form
the company after successfully leading many tours for friends and acquaintances.
Following months of route planning they feel their tour offers the best
of cycling in Kerala.
We
work closely with TourIndia (www.tourindiakerala.com)
who provide our support vehicles, help us find the best accommodation
and are an invaluable source of local advice and information.
Safety is
our main priority, so all guides are trained in first aid and bicycle
maintenance and know the roads and terrain well.

Sarah
After
completing a degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice and working as
a residential social worker, Sarah's career path changed dramatically
after extensive cycle touring in India. As well as co-directing
Cycle Kerala Sarah is one of the main tour leaders. She is an enthusiastic
and knowledgeable guide, and is particularly passionate about the
conservation of Keralas forests and wildlife.

Miles
Miles is a qualified physiotherapist, who traded in his tunic in
order to pursue his life long passion for cycling. In 1986 he was
one of a group of 5 cyclists (along with Geoff) who made the journey
from Karachi to Sydney on a sponsored charity ride for visually
impaired children. Having cycled extensively throughout Asia including
Lhasa to Kathmandu he still maintains that India is the Jewel in
the crown. Focused and organized is how he likes to be described.

Andy
Andy
is currently employed as a stone mason. His laconic humour and inability
to become ruffled are important attributes on our tours. Andy is
particularly customer focused and will go a long way to ensure our
guests "get everything they want out of the tour" His
great passion apart from cycling is the guitar with a distinctive
Bob Dylan bias.

Geoff
Geoff was born in Iran, and lived there for the first 9 years of
his life. This early experience kindled his interest in Asia, and
has resulted in frequent visits to Asia and the Indian sub-continent.
For people who can't understand his fascination with this part of
the world his answer is simple. "I've realized that Asian travel
makes me constantly re-assess my western values. The failings of
our own so-called 'first world' society are never contrasted so
sharply for me as when I'm in Asia. I feel fortunate to have experienced
this." Besides guiding tours for Cycle Kerala Geoff owns his
own translation company. He is a natural leader who is organized
and decisive, and what he doesn't know about bikes isn't worth knowing!
